Relief Ink

RC OP 43 Series FG Relief Clear

RAYCURE

PREFAC

RC OP 43 SERIES FG RELIEF CLEAR is designed for relief printing ,thick over-coat printing and thermo-graphic printing that forms risen effect.
FG-5 is added to the line-up as improved type of FG-4 in blocking resistance and yellowing.

APPLICATIONS

Over-coating with relief effect on offset prints, gravure prints and thermo-graphic printing. FG RELIEF CLEAR can be printed on laminated surface and or laminated matt PP surface.

CHARACTERISTICS

  1. Suitable for high-speed printing with cylinder press.(FG-20,FG-5)
  2. Fast curing. Excellent blocking resistance when the printed matters are stacked.
  3. Good adhesion to offset prints and laminated matt PP surface.
  4. The cured ink has glossy finish with good levelling and transparency.
  5. No harmful materials such as heavy metal and NVinyl Pyrrolidone are contained.

HOW TO USE

  • Ink is supplied in ready-to-use condition. Stir well before use.
  • Add 43-00 REDUCER up to 10% if it is necessary to lower viscosity.
  • Standard curing conditions :
    Mesh : 150 meshes/inch
    Thickness of sol: 100 microns
    Conveyor speed : 15 m/min
    Integral light : 150 mJ/sq.cm
Ink film thickness : 50-70 microns
    • Lamp power : One metal halide lamp 120W/cm
    • Distance from focus : 10 cm
    • Cooling : Water cooling or air cooling

COVERAGE

  • Approx. 10-15 m²/kg (150 meshes/inch. thickness of sol : 100 microns)
  • Approx. 20-30 m²/kg (180 meshes/inch. thickness of sol : 50 microns)

TYPE OF PACKING

1-kg-plastic container , other packing is available.

AVAILABLE TYPE

PRECAUTIONS

  1. Blocking resistance is effected by the gloss of the paper on which the ink is printed. Blocking may happens when glossy paper is used, especially with FG-20.
Insufficient curing, piling up the material with printed surface face-to-face, high environmental temperature: these are the factors to cause blocking.
The below additives are recommended as countermeasure against blocking.
    • JAR-1 adding ratio 1-5%. Ink film tends to be hard.
    • JAR-34 adding ratio 0.1-0.5%. Levelling tends to be degraded.
  2. Good adhesion may not be obtained if wettability of PP lamination material is not enough. Please choose the material with the wettability of over 450µN/cm and perform pre-test to check the result.
  3. As special de-foamer is contained in FG-20SC, it cannot be mixed with other FG ink.
FG-20 and FG-30, FG-5 and FG-3, FG-5 and FG-4 can be mixed together at any mixing ratio.
  4. Please refer to the literature, "UV INK", for general precautions.
  5. Please refer to MSDS before use.
  6. Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.
