Ink
3200 SeriesSIM
Properties
Low temperature curing. Excellent flexibility.
Excellent heat resistance.
INTRODUCTIONS
3200 SERIES SIM is two-pack type of ink designed for insert-moulding and in-mould process. 3200 SERIES dries at low temperature and produces flexible ink film with excellent heat resistance.
APPLICATIONS
Polycarbonate sheet or treated PET film for insert moulding and in-mould usage. Polycarbonate and PET film for nameplates.
CHARACTERISTICS
- The ink dries at low temperature(80-90°C)(176-194°F).
- Ink film is flexible and tough to cope with moulding process.
- Heat resistance is excellent to be used in insert moulding or in-mould processing.
HOW TO USE
Mix the ink, Hardener and thinner at the following ratio:
- Ink 100
- Hardener JA-930 15
- PC thinner 10-30
DRYING
- Tack-free : 80°C(176°F) x 5 minutes
- Minimum drying conditions : 80°C(176°F) x 40 minutes
- Standard drying conditions : 90°C(194°F) x 30 minutes
- Ideal drying conditions : 100°C(212°F) x 20 minutes
POT LIFE
Approx.8-10 hours at room temperature(20°C)(68°F)
STENCIL & WASHING UP
Use photstencil.
Vinyl Cleaning thinner is recommended for washing up.
COLORS & TYPE OF PACKING
- Standard 19 colors. 1kg can
- JA-930 : 0.1 kg can
PRECAUTIONS
- When SIM ink is dried at 80-90°C(176-194°F), satisfactory heat resistance may not be obtained.
To improve heat resistance: - Dry the ink at 100°C(212°F)
- Use Hardener JA-970 instead of JA-930 : In this case, the ink film becomes slightly harder. The pot life of the mixture is 4-5 hours.
- Add accelerator, JA-E11, by 2% : The pot life of the mixture is 1-2 hours.
- JA-930 becomes solid by the reaction to humidity. Keep the lid of the continer shut. Store the product in a cool and dark place. Once the container is opened, film may appear over the surface if the product is left unused for a long time. If the shelf life is still valid, the product can be used by removing the film.
- The shelf life of JA-930 is one year unopened, approximately three months after the container being opened.
- Please refer to MSDS before use.
- Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.
