KGS

2-component reaction

Properties

Excellent adhesion. Thick ink film. Chemical resistance.

Excellent adhesion. Thick ink film. Chemical resistance.
Metal, Glass, Pre-treated polyolefines.

INTRODUCTIONS

KGS is highly evaluated as the ink for glass. KGS is recommended when good adhesion cannot be obtained with #1000 Epilite ink or #2500 MIG-N(SD) ink.

APPLICATIONS

ABS, aluminium, epoxy resin, glass, stainless, ceramic, nylon, phenol resin, coated metal, steel, copper

CHARACTERISTICS

Excellent adhesion to the substrate and tough ink film with superior properties can be produced. The finish is semi-gloss.

  • Tough ink film, Superb adhesion to glass
  • Excellent resistance to boiling, chemical and solvent

HOW TO USE

1. Substrates : plastics

When baking with high temperature cannot be used for ABS, phenol, epoxy, nylon, coated metal, aluminium, steel, stainless or copper, the following printing method is recommended.

Hardener

Add hardener (JA-960) of 10-20 parts to ink of 100 parts.
Less hardener makes flexible ink film, which makes adhesion good.
More hardener makes hard ink film with good alcohol resistance.

Thinner

Use PC Thinner (fast drying, standard drying, slow drying, retarder) or Tetron Thinner.
Stir well before use.
Adding ratio Ink+Harder 100 : Thinner 5-20

Drying

70℃ x 30 min.-120 min.(in case of ABS)
Correlation between  drying time and alcohol resistance (number of rubbing times with 95% ethanol)

drying time(70℃) 30 min. 60 min.  120 min.
alcohol resistance 30-60 100-200 200-400
Pot life

6-8 hours at 20℃
Do not use the mixture of  ink and hardener after pot life although the mixture is still fluid and printable. Proper properties cannot be obtained.

Stencil and Washing up

Use photo-stencil.
Use Vinyl Cleaning Thinner for washing up.

2. Substrates : glass

When baking with high temperature can be used for glass, ceramic, aluminium, steel, stainless or copper, the following printing method is recommended.

Hardener

Add additive (JA-1000) of 2-3 parts to ink of 100 parts.

Thinner

Use PC Thinner (fast drying, standard drying, slow drying, retarder) or Tetron Thinner.
Stir well before use.
Adding ratio Ink+Additive 100 : Thinner 5-20

Drying

Correlation between drying temperature and drying time

Temperature 100 ℃ 120℃ 150℃
Time 60 min. 20 min. 5 min.
Pot life

Approx. 12 hours  at 20℃
Do not use the mixture of ink and additive after pot life although the mixture is still fluid and printable. Proper properties cannot be obtained.

Stencil and Washing up

Use photo-stencil.
Use Vinyl Cleaning Thinner for washing up.

PRECAUTIONS

  1. Be sure to heat-dry the mixture of ink and additive (JA-1000) . Proper properties cannot be obtained by drying at room temperature.
  2. Harder JA-960 and additive JA-1000 become solid with humidity even if they are not added to the ink. Please store the products in a cool and dark place with the lid of the container tightly closed.
  3. JA-960 and JA-1000 cannot be used together.  If both are added to the ink, ink instantly becomes solid.
  4. Color-matching by using metallic powder cannot be done because color-matched ink gels.
  5. Please refer to SDS before use.
  6. We do not have stock of KGS ink.  The minimum order quantity is 30 kgs per color.
  7. Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.

Applications Usage

Metal, Glass, Pre-treated polyolefines.
